TB Code 12-4 (b) - No person or property owner shall place or keep any fence, growth, trash or other material that will in any way hinder the fire department's access to a fire hydrant within three feet of all sides of a fire hydrant. The town's fire marshal or fire chief shall investigate all complaints of obstructed fire hydrants and shall notify the property owner in writing by first class mail in the event it is determined that a fire hydrant is obstructed. The owner shall have 15 days from the date of such notice to remove the obstruction. If the owner fails to remove the obstruction within such 15-day period, the town shall summarily abate the obstruction and the owner of the property shall be charged for the cost associated therewith.
TB Code 12-8 (a) - Permits are required for all outdoor burning. The only exceptions are: (1)Grill fires for the purpose of cooking food; and (2)Fires in metal drums (e.g., 55-gallon) on construction sites, provided they are used to warm workers and/or tools and are completely extinguished before the last worker leaves the site.
TB Code 12-73 (a) - It shall be unlawful for any person to possess, store, offer for sale, use or explode any fireworks or pyrotechnic devices within the town limits except pursuant to a permit issued by the fire chief or his designee.
NC General Statute -20-162 - No person shall park a vehicle within (15) feet in any direction of a fire hydrant.
NC General Statute 307-2.2 - Only leaves, branches or other plant growth can be burned and shall be done by permit only.
