The Town of Topsail Beach is starting a new trash and recycling contract with GFL beginning July 1st. Trash will continue to be picked up on Mondays (Mondays and Thursdays between Memorial weekend and Labor Day). Recycling will continue to be picked up on Mondays. As part of this contract, GFL will work independently, and the Town will no longer be maintaining lost or damaged trash and recycling carts. Additionally, GFL will be removing all straps from trash carts. The customer service number for GFL is (252)339-0290 if you have any recycling or trash related questions, concerns, or complaints.

The Town will continue to provide once monthly bulk item and vegetative debris pick-up, however, starting in July 2025, it will be the SECOND TUESDAY of each month. Please schedule accordingly, our first bulk item pick under the new contract will be July 8th. Items that will be picked up will remain the same:

Yard Waste - Curbside collection of bagged or bundled yard waste (e.g., grass clippings, leaves, branches under 4 inches in diameter and 6 feet in length on a monthly basis). Piles are to be no longer than 10 feet long.

Bulk Item - Curbside pickup of bulk items (e.g., furniture, appliances, mattresses) on the scheduled pickup day. No construction or demolition materials will be accepted. No tires, toilets, concrete, or hazardous liquid (e.g., paint, motor oil, etc.).
