The Town of Topsail Beach officially broke ground this morning on its new $9.6 million Public Safety Building, marking an important milestone in the Town’s continued investment in public safety and community resilience.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held at 10:00 a.m. on September 24 at 701 Flake Ave. in Topsail Beach and brought together community members, local and state officials, Town staff, and project partners to celebrate the beginning of construction.
The Public Safety Facility is a design-build project that will provide a new, purpose-built facility for the Town’s Police and Fire Departments. The approximately 17,400-square-foot building will include office and support spaces for police and fire personnel, covered parking at the ground level, and an apparatus bay for fire and rescue vehicles.
The Town extends its sincere appreciation to Senator Brent Jackson and Representative Carson Smith for their efforts in securing state-allocated funding to help make the Public Safety Building project possible. Their advocacy and support have played an important role in advancing this critical investment in Topsail Beach’s future.
The Town also recognizes the contributions of the project’s design-build team, Thomas Construction Group and Becker Morgan Group. Their expertise and collaborative approach throughout the planning and design process have been invaluable in helping the Town move this project forward.
